Melbourne Recital Centre

We worked with Melbourne Recital Centreto deliver a Music Genre Spectrum campaign through animations. The sequential frames feature the wide variety of music genres performed at Melbourne Recital Centre, in conjunction with kinetic typography that oscillates from top to bottom like notes on a music score. We took inspiration from sheet music and the idea of music as a language to determine how the typography moved and behaved in the animation. A diamond shape frames the images of the artists showcased. Its orientation changes to recall the changing position of notes on sheet music. The diamond was chosen as a strong branding graphic, as it features on the building and glasswork of the facade of Melbourne Recital Centre.
